Tour of Germany and Austria

Tour of Germany and Austria

Possibly my best ever trip which included my first visits to Cologne, Berlin, and Austria as a whole. The gig schedule went from Cologne, to Hamburg, to Berlin. Cologne is a beautiful city that I’ll be going back to for sure, Hamburg was played to packed a audience of 150, and my first stints in Berlin, including possibly my new favourite busking spot under a train bridge has laid the foundations for German touring in the future. In Austria I performed twice in the town of Hinterglemm and once again opened some doors for the future. If my time in Germany was spent in picturesque cities, then the majority of my time in Austria was spent in equally picturesque mountains. Just simply good to breathe and think about the future.

Tour of The Netherlands

Noorderzon is a 10 day festival that takes place in the beautiful Dutch city of ‘Groningen’. The festival takes place in the park around a pond where people are free to enjoy the combination of free and ticketed experiences. In The Netherlands I have taken part in many completely unplugged living room gigs. While I’m sure if I ever get the chance to perform to thousands at Glastonbury I will love it and remember it forever, whether it will be able to out do the deep heartfelt satisfaction of performing unplugged to a small engrossed audience l’m not sure. It’s a special thing. As part of Noorderzon ‘Wishful music’ were putting on ‘living room’ performances in a little prefab. People would buy tickets to the artist they wanted to see. I did two sold out performances and they both have to go down as 2 of the most enjoyable gigs of the year, and certainly most unique. While I was in The Netherlands I also had the chance to play in Leiden on a houseboat/art studio, a rock cafe near Heerlen, and a festival in Joure. Good times.

Tom Copson at Secret Garden Party and Cambridge Folk Festival

A few festivals have been played this summer but perhaps the highlights so far have been the performances at ‘The Cambridge Folk Festival’ and ‘Secret Garden Party’. The Secret Garden Party is one of the most varied festivals in The UK. There is so much going on but fortunately a good crowd found their way into ‘The Living Room’ tent on Friday evening to experience myself and the full band. In a ‘far larger than average’ living room setting with Sofas and lamps we hopefully satisfied the ears of our listeners. Nine days on and in a stripped down, bass, omnichord, violin and guitar format, Bryony, Dan, and I performed in a similar setting, although this time smaller, with 100 people sitting on rugs and cushions. It was really fun just the three of us playing. It made room for some new sounds.

Press Launch show at the 12 bar

On the 9th July we finished the ‘Woven’ release journey by doing a press gig at London’s fantastic 12 bar early on Monday evening. The full band rocked up to perform and celebrate ‘Woven’. Some lovely guys from ‘More Than The Music’ came down and took some photos. Click here to see them!

Curious Yellow Weekend Cancelled

It is with great regret that I have to inform you that the ‘Curious Yellow Weekend’ has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. Myself and the band were really looking forward to this Saturday headline show so it’s a massive shame and I feel very sorry for the organisers who I know put a massive amount of time and effort into trying to make this festival work. The feeling is that it may well go ahead next year so let’s hope that is the case!

Very nice review from 'More Than The Music'

I have been slowly but surely getting more feedback on my album ‘Woven’ and this latest review is probably my favourite feedback yet! I have always considered myself a ‘live’ guy so hearing people speak positively about my work before they have seen me live is really nice for me. Let the reviews keep coming! Bad or good in many ways! Just trying to get out there.

So 'Woven' is out!

Tom Copson Music would just like to thank everyone involved in the full release of ‘Woven’ last Monday. It is now available from iTunes and all good digital stores. To celebrate we roamed round London busking before a great show at Proud Galleries in Camden! The next big date in the diary is 9th July at the 12 bar club where we shall continue the celebrations with a full band gig. Let’s the hope the album, the songs, and Tom himself receive much positive attention over the coming weeks and months!

'Woven' Release this Monday!

As of this Monday (4th June) ‘Woven’ will be fully available online including iTunes, Amazon, and all good digital stores. This is most splendid news! To celebrate I have a weekend of gigging and busking planned! As well as Cambridge busking, there will be full band performances in Cambridge and my home town St. Ives. Actual release day will involve myself and some of the band busking in London throughout the day and gigging at Proud Galleries in Camden at 3pm! We’ll be filming it and taking lots of photos for you all to enjoy in due course. We hope to see you over release weekend!

Welcome to the new Tom Copson website

I am very pleased to welcome you to my new website. From now on this will be the online home to all things Copson and music. There are still a couple of little things to add and update but I hope you’ll agree that it looks and feels very nice indeed. I must thank and congratulate Rik Hudson from little red letter on all his hard work in building the site. This year is a fun and exciting one for me, and this website only sees it continue. Thank you everyone for your support.
